Our story
Spritzzetto is not just a drink, it is a way of life, bringing together two cultures that are uniquely different, yet share the same love for connection, flavour and good times.
Inspired by the Italian tradition of coming together over a spritz, we wanted to create something that felt just as at home in New Zealand. Our mission was simple: to take world renowned flavours and combine them with premium New Zealand wine, creating an authentic ready to drink cocktail made for Kiwi social occasions.
From the very beginning, we had a few non negotiables. Spritzzetto had to be authentic, made with premium ingredients, contain no artificial colours or flavours, and offer a lower calorie alternative to many ready to drink cocktails currently on the market.
What we created is something we are incredibly proud of and genuinely excited to share. Every can of Spritzzetto is made to bring people together, whether it’s long afternoons in the sun, dinners with friends or spontaneous moments worth celebrating.
Spritzzetto means “Little Spritz” in Italian, a name that perfectly captures the simple moments of connection shared whenever a can is cracked open here in New Zealand.
Our Founders
Spritzzetto was founded by two mates, born out of an idea on a train journey in Venice.
Our founders, Angus & Luca have been close mates for many years who have always bonded over a shared love for food, wine and sport.
Both former New Zealand Rowing athletes in a previous life and spending many times competing on the world stage. In 2019 Angus visited to Luca in Italy, where he experienced the place Luca grew up.
On a train ride home after a full day in Venice, exploring the canals, soaking up the sun and drinking a few too many spritzes, both mates had a eureka moment, “We have to take this back to New Zealand.”
Fast forward to the middle of 2025, both Angus & Luca now working in the food and beverage industry caught up at a pub in Auckland and realised the spark from that day on the train was well and truely still alive. That day marked the beginning of Spritzzetto’s journey.
